For projects associated with fruit handling, food storage and similar operations, the building envelope can directly influence the ability to maintain suitable internal conditions. Cold rooms require considerably different enclosure performance from an ordinary warehouse, while packing, grading and utility areas may need separate functional zones.

Sandwich panels make it possible to address these requirements through factory-manufactured wall, roof, ceiling and partition systems. The panel core and configuration can be selected according to the building’s intended use rather than applying one specification across an entire facility.

Panel performance depends on both the insulation core and how the complete enclosure is designed and installed.

External wall systems require appropriate attention to panel joints, corners, openings and flashings. Roof systems need suitable slope, drainage and weather detailing. In cold rooms and controlled spaces, ceiling interfaces, doors and penetrations become especially important.

Panel thickness, core material, metal facing, joint configuration and supporting structure should therefore be considered together according to the intended building use and operating conditions.
